The Ask: Create a concept for the official Coachella app for their 2020 festival.
The Challenges: Coachella faced widespread criticism on social media for its lack of environmental compassion. With over 5,000 attendees gathering annually, the festival leaves behind vast amounts of waste, littering the Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert.
The Big Idea: What if we could rekindle people's appreciation for the beauty of Coachella, encouraging them to make more mindful decisions while attending the concert? The idea is straightforward: provide attendees with the freedom and tools to create their own personalized Coachella filter. By inviting them to share what Coachella means to them along with their photos, we can foster a deeper connection to the festival experience. These moments can then be instantly shared on social media using the hashtag #Coachella2020.
